As part of a celebration of Friendship, Year 4 visited St. Michael's Church in Bamford this morning. Along with nine other Church of England Schools we sang, prayed and celebrated Friendships and a succesful Year 4. The Bishop of Middleton led the service and the choir from St. Michael's school sang beautifully for us. It was a lovely to share the prayer wreaths we had made and look at those of the other schools.

Due to injury 4C had their own exclusive photographer. Aamina "hobbled" behind our class and took some brilliant action shots. Well done Aamina a photographer in the making!

St. Peter's visit St. Mary's Kirkby Lonsdale., by Mrs Cavill

On Wednesday 27th June 4C visited St. Mary's school in Kirkby Lonsdale. This follows their visit to us earlier in the term. The children met up with their new friends and we visited St. Mary's Church. We then walked by the river to have a picnic. As you will see from the photogrpahs we had a great day. You will also see how tiring it was too!

Mr. Bromley, who used to work at St. Peter's School, brought a class of children to visit us from his school in Kirkby Lonsdale. We had a lovely time making new friends and we took them to St. Peter's Church. Both sets of children enjoyed the visit, looking at the very special stained glass windows and singing together.

On Friday 18th May, Year 4 fisted Thornham Cricket Club to play a tournament, in a round robin format, against 5 other local schools. The team won their last match coming 5th out of the six teams.They improved game on game taking on board the advice they were given.

Gallery Oldham Pattern and Print., by Mrs Cavill

Yesterday 22nd May 4C travelled to Oldham to visit Gallery Oldham . We met an artist called Faye and she showed us around the Gallery and we looked for patterns. We sketched the patterns into the book we had made and went back to the classroom with them. Next we drew our design onto a polysterene tile and use printing ink and a roller to print our design onto our cloth. Next term we will sew them and make them into tiny cushions. We had a lovely day and we were all, as usual, SUPER well behaved.

Today Year 4 visited this building in recognition of what the Rochdale Pioneers achieved setting up the first ever co-op in the Toad Lane building back in 1844. We were amazed by the size of the building before we went in! We learned lots of facts about it, including that it was opened by the Queen in 2013. It also has 4,000 employes!

This week we Year 4 have been visited by an author. John Malham is a non-fiction author and he told us all about the biography he has written about Queen Elizabeth II. It was very interesting and we even got to meet the Queen!
4C at Toad Lane Pioneers Museum, by Mrs Cavill

On Wednesday we walked to the PIoneers Museum on Toad Lane. This is the actual site of the very first Co-operative shop set up by The Rochdale Pioneers. We learned a lot about what these Victorian men did for Rochdale and Fair trading.

Today the Canal and River Trust came into our school. We were canal and river explorers, finding the dangers that we could see near the canal. We learnt about the dangers we could face, how to avoid them and what to do if we end up in any danger in water.

4C visit Neeli Mosque
During the last half term,as part of our understanding of different faiths, we visited Neeli Mosque. As always the people at Neeli mosque were very welcoming and informative. We enjoyed dressing up and some of us had a wash in the Wudu area. Before we came back we had a drink and biscuits. Thank you Neeli Mosque!
