We had a fantastic St Peter's Day this year! We started off the day with an assembly by Reverend Ann. We then watched The Magic Matt Show we saw some really cool tricks and laughed lots! We then had some time with Magic Matt teaching us some circus tricks like spinning plates, juggling balls, juggling scarves and flower sticks. This was pretty tricky but we tried our best and got better as time went on. Then we had our ice-cream which was scrummy!

2F's Class Worship - Acts of Service, by Mrs Freeman

Date: 13th Jun 2022 @ 2:43pm

2F delivered a FANTASTIC class worship to the school and parents, all about ACTS OF SERVICE! We discussed what 'service' means, and explored the following questions:

  • Do you need to have a job to serve?
  • Do you only serve important people?
  • Can we serve our parents even though they are older than us?
  • How did Jesus serve us?
  • How can we serve God?

We joined together to pray and to reflect on our big question,  'How can we serve one another?'

It was a thoughtful worship, and we are all very proud of all the pupils in 2F.

Well done!

Year 2 had an amazing trip to CommuniTree! They gathered around a camp fire and sang many songs. As well as this, they learnt about the life cycle of bees and how they help us. This was incorporated into the games they played. Can you remember the name of the boy and girl bees? The children had a lot of fun creating bee badges, leaf rubbings and making their own bee hives out of sticks. Look at our pictures to see all the fun we had.

Life Cycle of a Butterfly in Nursery, by Mrs Andrews

Date: 27th May 2022 @ 3:46pm

In nursery we have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly.  We watched the caterpillars grow and then turn into a cocoon.  After two weeks they became butterflies.  We then fed them fruit and after a few days we released them into our butterfly garden at St. Peter's. To help us learn about the life cycle we painted caterpillars, made caterpillars with the playdough, made repeating patterns, we even made a butterfly dance. We have really enjoyed watching and learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly.

Our Blackpool Coastlines and Sealife trip, by Mrs Gill

Date: 26th May 2022 @ 10:19am

What an amazing day the children had on Friday 20th May 2022 when we went to Blackpool to look at the coastlines and the underwater sealife that live there. which linked to our Geography topic about coastlines. The children were amazed to know that so many  sealife creatures could inhabit the sea at one given time. They  learnt that sharks never went to sleep and were always moving.  Whilst in the Sealife centre, the children met Phoenix the turtle who at the age of 22 is considered a baby! When  we visited the beach and looked at the coastlines, the children were able to pick up some sea shells before the tide came in. We all had a wonderful and memorable day!

3H in Blackpool! Our coastlines trip 20.05.22, by Miss Healey

Date: 23rd May 2022 @ 9:49am

We had such a wonderful time in Blackpool! We saw so many underwater creatures that inhabit our coastlines. We learnt a cool trick where if the glass was cold to touch that meant the animals lived in our UK waters, if it was slightly warmer, they didn't. It was very interesting comparing these animals' features. We found Phoenix the sea turtle and learnt that despite being 24 stone, she was just a baby! (A 22 year old baby because sea turtles can live to over a hundred years old!) We then went out to the beach, we saw some of the tourist attractions and other things that bbring people to the coast. We found loads of cool seashells and brought them back to school, then we watched as the tide came in. We had so much fun!

Our completed frog life cycle! Year 3, by Miss Healey

Date: 26th Apr 2022 @ 4:00pm

Last half term we began our frog life cycle with putting frogspawn in our pond and keeping some in our classroom to observe over the next few weeks. We noted lots of changes and watched as our frogspawn became tadpoles, then froglets with hind legs, fore legs and finally a distinguished head. Once we came back after the Easter holidays, we found the tails of our froglets had disappeared and our tiny little frogs were sat on the rocks out of the water breathing air! We then went to our pond, placing them gently back in their natural habitat. Hopefully we will get new frogspawn next Spring to fully complete our cycle. Take a look at our little frogs!

4J Cornet Concert - April 22, by Mr Jolly

Date: 7th Apr 2022 @ 4:40pm

Over the last three months, 4J have been learning to play the cornet. They built up their initial skills by learning individual notes of C, D and E. Then they learnt to play songs with one note and then multiple notes. Finally, they learnt another note - B flat -  in order to play and sing the well known song - The Eye of the Tiger.

The concert today was the culumiation of their hard work with Mr Merter. They played and sung six different pieces of music:

1. Cha Cha Cha
2. William Tell
3. Boogie Shoes
4. Limbo Rock
5. Achy Braky Leg
6. Eye of the Tiger

Well done on your performance. KS2 and the parents who attended thoroughly enjoyed it.
