Today, the children thoroughly enjoyed the visit to Touchstones where they learned all about what life was like in Ancient Greece. We unlocked artefacts from the museum, pretended to be archaeologists to discover clues, wrote cards for our own children's museum and then made our own Greek coins using clay. This was a great start to our new topic in History.

6H led the Year 6 Collective Worship this morning, focussing on courage. We discussed how Noah showed courage and how we could use this in our own lives.

Year 6 and Reception had a lovely time at church yesterday, saying prayers, singing songs and saying thank you to God for the gift of Jesus.

Today, Y6 went to church partnered up with their special friends from Reception. The service was all about the birth of Jesus. We heard Bible readings, sang Christmas Carols, watched videos and said prayers.

A group of Year 6 children have been working with Mrs Molloy to plan some of the RE lessons. They have come up with some very creative ways of recording their ideas. In this lesson, the children wanted to help teach what they had planned. At the start, the children were nervous but then they reported that they enjoyed doing this and that it was just like leading worship to the year group.

Year 6 had a really reflective visit to the Cenotaph on Oldham Road. The children laid their painted pebbles and said prayers to remember the fallen.

Year 6 enjoyed The Macmillan Coffee Morning. In class, we discussed the work Macmillan does to help people. The children donated money, biscuits/cakes and also encouraged parents to come along too!

6H had a very moving Collective Worship with Stephen Watkinson, the children thought about all of the reason they might complain. We then looked at the story of Moses and how God send manna for the people to eat when they were starving. We thought about the people's reaction to this and decided that instead of complaining, the people should have been grateful.
We then reflect upon are complains at the start and realised we should not complain but be grateful for all we have and share what we have for example, donating to the Harvest Collection.
