On Friday 4th November Nursery and Reception had our own fireworks to celebrate Bonfire Night. Miss Crabtree and Miss Marney lit the fireworks and we all watched them.  afterwards we enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate to warm us up!

LOOKING AFTER OUR TEETH!, by Miss Mather

On the 3rd November we had a visit from a lady who brought her special friend in. She told us all about how to look after our teeth, making sure we brush them twice a day and eat the right foods to keep our teeth strong and healthy. We even got our own toothbrush and toothpaste!

The children had a wonderful time watching the fireworks on Bonfire Night.  After the fireworks we came back into school to warm up and had chocolate and parkin.  It was delicious.

The children all had a fantastic time on sports day.  They enjoyed taking part in a running race, sack race and egg and spoon race. All children tried their best and participated in all races.  Well done Nursery.

Funky Fingers and Dough Gym in Nursery - April 2015, by Miss Crabtree

Taking part in Funky Fingers and Dough Gym everyday has made a big impact on the childrens fine motor skills and they are making good progress.  This in turn has also improved the children’s writing and letter formation.  These activities take place for 3 minutes every day to music.  The children enjoy this time and often sing along with the song too!

Have a look at some of the things we have been doing.  You may want to try them at home too.

We had a wonderful time at our Easter Bonnet parade. The children had made some fantastic creations, no doubt with a lot of help from home!

The Solar Eclipse- Nursery - March 2015, by Miss Crabtree

The children were very interested in the eclipse. We used Google to research information about it and learnt that a solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun.

We went outside to see it but we were not allowed to look at the sun in case it damaged our eyes but when the clouds passed over it we were allowed to look. It went very dark outside! 

World Book Day in Nursery - March 2015, by Miss Crabtree

The children had a wonderful day celebrating World Book Day.  There were some fantastic costumes and characters from books such as Sleeping Beauty, The Very hungry Caterpillar, The Tiger That Came To Tea, Harry and His Bucketful of Dinosuars and many more.

Well done to Asha who won the best costume from Nursery.  She dressed up as a caterpillar from The Very Hungry Caterpillar and made her costume at home with her mum.  Asha won a £5.00 book token.  We think she looked fantastic.

Please remember to share books and stories at home as not only is it great fun but will help your child to learn new language, new experiences and develops their imagination ready for writing.

Nursery Dinosaur Topic - Feb 2015, by Miss Crabtree

The Nursery children had a fantastic time learning all about dinosaurs and researching information about them using Google. We made our own dinosaurs using play dough and painted pictures of them. The children took part in a special hunt in the outdoor area and found some bones!  The children think the bones could be from a T-Rex.
