Making a model digestive system

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 4R Year: 2024 - 2025

This term, we are learning all about the digestive system! We decided to create our own model of the digestive system so we could understand how it works. First, we began crunching up some crackers in a bag which acted as our mouth and teeth, we then added some water to act as our saliva. This was then passed through our oesophagus (or toilet roll) into our stomach. Our stomach was filled with lemon juice to act as our stomach acid. We then passed our mixture through some tights to act as our intestines and squeezed out all of the liquid before pushing it through two cups. We had so much fun!

Who we are

We look to provide a safe, secure, stimulating Christian environment in which all our children feel happy and valued as individuals, and where they can learn and play to the best of their abilities, and therefore reach their full potential.
