Year 6H 2017 - 2018

Miss Hulse

Welcome to 6H

Welcome back to the second half of the Autumn term.

This will be an extremely busy term for all the children in Year 6 as we continue to work hard in all areas of the curriculum.

English - we will be focussing on different genres of writing where the children have the opportunity to edit and redraft their work; ensuring each piece of writing shows their true potential.

Maths - we are consolidating our learning, extending the children’s knowledge to ensure they are able to apply this in all contexts.

R.E. - we will be focusing on ‘Advent’. We will be delving deeper into the themes of the season of Advent; describing the symbolism, practices and beliefs.

Science – We continue with our topic of ‘Evolution and Inheritance’, the focus for this half term is adaptation.

In History our focus is on how World War 2 has impacted our local area. We are looking forward to visiting the Imperial War Museum North to further enhance our learning.

P.E is on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday – please make sure full P.E kits are in school on a Monday morning and are taken home to wash on a Friday.

As always, if you have any questions about Year 6 come and speak to one of the teachers.
