School Council were very busy on Friday! School Council wanted to raise some extra money for Children in Need and also give everyone a little treat. They went around school selling bicuits, which everyone loved!

Earthquake proof buildings - November 2018, by Mr Jolly

CHALLENGE
4J had to make a structure, as large as possible, to withstand the effect of an earthquake.
They had marshmallows, cocktail sticks and a jelly plate to stick them in. The marshmallow and cocktail sticks were to be used for the buildings and the jelly as the ground it is built on.
Look at the pictures and videos to see which groups would make great future architects.

On Thursday 4C had a fantastic experience at M6 theatre company. We met the children from St. Joseph's Heywood, our linking school for all of 2018. We played games and got to know our new friends and watched a Spectacular production called,"Little Gift," all about a lonely old man and how a small act of kindness can go a long way. As usual 4C behaved impeccably and their good manners were noted by a number of members of staff at M6.Well done 4C I am very proud of you.

Year 6 had a fantastic time at the IWMN on Monday, the children were very respectful and learnt a lot about rememberance.
4J's Visit to M6 with St Joseph's - November 2018, by Mr Jolly

Today, 4J went to M6 Theatre to meet with their linking school partner St Joseph's RC from Heywood. 4J had lots of fun and made many new friends. In the morning, 4J merged with Class 9 and found out similarities and differences between their partner and themselves through games. They then watched a play called Little Gift. After lunch, 4J and Class 9 were involved in a drama workshop.

Year 6 had a really reflective visit to the Cenotaph on Oldham Road. The children laid their painted pebbles and said prayers to remember the fallen.
