Year 1 had a fabulous trip to Clitheroe Castle. They did lots of exciting activies and learnt lots of fun facts about Castles, Keeps, Myths and Legends.

In our DT lessons we have been looking at preparing different snacks and meals. This half term we have made jam sandwiches, cheese sandwiches and fruit kebabs. We have also looked at the preparations that are necessary before handling food. We wrote instructions and discussed the importance of hygiene, making sure our hands and the equipment we were using are all safe and clean. We then followed our instructions carefully and were each able to make our chosen foods and snacks. Our favourite bit was eating the end product!! cheeky

We held our annual Harvest Festival Assembly where we sang our favourite Harvest songs and spoke about the importance of Harvest and how it has changed over time.

Well done to the Year 5&6 School Football team for competing in the Rochdale School Games Football tournament. We played four other teams from various schools across the borough. Everyone in the team played brilliantly, and true spirit and determination was shown throughout each and every game!

Year Four had an amazing time in Chester. They represented the school well by behaving fantastically all day making all the staff who travelled very proud. 

The day was full of exciting activities: touring the seas as a Roman soldier; exploring the diet and lifestyle of a Roman in Britain; becoming archaeologists; and marching as a Roman soldiers through the city. Take a look at the pictures to see a snap shot of the day.

We had a fantastic day out and learnt lots about the Vikings. We enjoyed workshops on Viking stories and medicine. Afterwards, we went digging to find out what we could discover about the Vikings from what they had left.

On Tuesday 6th June 2017, 2G visited Oldham Art Gallery. They were shown how fabric was  created through weaving. The children then  tried their hand at weaving and creating felt pictures which they thoroughly enjoyed.

4C visit Neeli Mosque

During the last half term,as part of our understanding of different faiths, we visited Neeli Mosque. As always the people at Neeli mosque were very welcoming and informative. We enjoyed dressing up and some of us had a wash in the Wudu area. Before we came back we had a drink and biscuits. Thank you Neeli Mosque!
